RSM 82908 - BMW (E9X) AKG 85D Urethane Shock Mounts

Specifications

These urethane mounts are sold to fit the Öhlins Road & Track dampers. The original E9X M3 EDC dampers have 12mm top pins. The Öhlins kit comes with adapters to mate the Öhlins damper to the OEM upper shock mounts that fit the 12mm original EDC damper. These AKG urethane mounts do not require the Öhlins adapter sleeves or EDC washer. They come with a 10mm sleeve allowing for a much cleaner install.

We do not provide 95D urethane mounts as we have seen issues with excess side loading of the piston shaft causing premature wear. We only recommend 85D mounts.

These Polyurethane Rear Upper Shock Mount Bushings are true, performance rear shock mounts that drastically reduce the deflection that occurs with the factory upper rear shock mount bushings. The stock shock mount bushings deflect under load – negatively affecting the rear shock damping, especially with a modified suspension and increased shock valving. Upgrading your factory shock mount bushings to AKG polyurethane rear upper shock mount bushings will drastically reduce this movement, helping to keep the rear shock in place so that it may operate properly.

AKG's U.S. Military Spec compound has elasticity and memory. This exclusive compound allows them to manufacture a bushing with performance characteristics that are free from the deformation which plastic bushings (Delrin, UHMW) are very prone to.
